Little Britain Down Under
Geoff Posner was the Executive Producer on this one-hour special for the BBC, which was also the first production of Little Britain Productions.
The documentary follows Matt Lucas and David Walliams, as they took the cameras with them on their successful “Little Britain Live” tour to Australia which kicked off in January 2007 in Melbourne, then touring Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle NSW, Canberra, Perth and came to an exhausting close in Mount Claremont, Western Australia in March.
This fly-on-the-wall documentary sees cameos from the likes of Kath & Kim (Jane Turner & Gina Riley) and Dame Edna Everage, interspersed with to-camera interviews with Matt and David, and footage from the Live Shows and the subsequent Little Britain mania...
The film crew itself was tiny in comparison to the size of the huge operation of staging the Live Shows each night. However the director (Mike Christie) eventually freighted a whopping180 rushes tapes back from Australia to the London office... After a Herculean editing session, the resulting one hour programme was transmitted on BBC One at peaktime, on the 27th of July that year.
